About US

Driven by Purpose, Backed by Experience, Focused on Inclusion.
The Wheel-Chair Taxi Association of BC (WCTABC) was established with a single, powerful vision: to make accessible transportation available to everyone, everywhere in British Columbia. We are a dedicated group of transportation professionals, advocates, and community leaders who believe that mobility is a basic human right—not a privilege reserved for a few.
Our Roots
WCTABC was founded by industry veterans with decades of hands-on experience, particularly through Richmond Taxi, a respected name in the Lower Mainland’s transportation sector. Over the years, we’ve witnessed firsthand the barriers faced by individuals who use wheelchairs or have mobility challenges—whether it’s long wait times, lack of vehicles, or cities with no service at all.
We saw the gap. And we decided to close it.

Our Mission
To ensure every city and town in British Columbia has access to safe, reliable, and fully wheelchair-accessible taxi services.
We work tirelessly to:
Advocate for the expansion of accessible transport services across urban, suburban, and rural BC
Partner with government bodies to influence inclusive transportation policies
Support community-driven requests and ensure their voices are heard at a provincial level
Train and certify drivers who can serve passengers with care, respect, and professionalism
